Crunching the Numbers The basics in Blood Bowl numbers wise are obvious. Elves dodge away 83% of the time, That double skull result should happen 1 in 36 rolls, and discussing ClawPOMB is a debate for the ages, but these are averages. Over the course of all Blood Bowl, those numbers ring true. But speak to any coach, and they'll tell you many tales of those games that the dice hated them, that nothing went their way and the opponent couldn't fail. The Number Munchers are here to look for those games. What I plan to do is document dice rolls, all dice rolls, from both teams, and figure out on a game to game basis why a team won or lost, and then at the end of the season look at my team and my opponents to see who benefited the most. I'll also just have general averages to say how often we saw certain weather or kick-off results, etc. If I go my normal course of 3 years for a team, we're looking at 30-35 games worth of data. It won't tell an exact story, but it will tell a story, and as a guy who loves stats, I'm intrigued to see what that story is. So basically I'm going from the very stylized fictional story telling of my Chaos team, to a very fact based story telling for the Lizardmen. In the end, when I tell you the dice hated me (or loved me) for a game, I'll have the numbers to back that up.
