Ra-Men Hungry for the Imperium?
With the Ra-Men / Imperium match-up just a day away, an important question is plaguing the Imperium's fans: Will the Ra-Men be out for the Imperium's blood?

Vamp fans may remember that the Imperium broke their 11-game losing streak earlier this season with a victory over the Ra-Men. In particular, the deaths of two of the Ra-Men's tomb guardians allowed the Imperium to push through the Khemri's defense a staggering four times. The Imperium's coach claims that the casualties--typically the Vampire team's worst statistic--were a surprise. As the results of the game resulted in the refinancing of the Ra-Men, it is unclear whether they harbor any grudges over the outcome. Fans are hoping this will result in a particularly fierce game, as Imperium games are, ironically, fairly bloodless.

The Imperium / Ra-Men rematch will take place on Oct.2 at 1:00 PM. It will be broadcast by no one.

Funkelnfang Defends the Imperium
In Twilight Imperium news today, the Imperials have recruited Albrecht Funkelnfang, Fürst von Hundham, to make the total number of Vampires on the Imperium's roster to six. There was speculation that Funkelnfang's recruitment was simply because of the fact that star Imperium player, Count von Sparkle, is still recovering from injuries as the Imperium face off against That's F N Teamwork, but inside sources indicate that the recruitment is indicative of a larger change within the team.

The Sylvanian newspaper, The Impaler, quotes team owner Archduke Pennyfarthing as saying that he is looking for a stronger defensive Vampire presence on the team. Some have been surprised by this statement, as it has been the aggressive Imperium offense that has brought the team their first two wins this season. Anaylsts speculate, however, that it is the fairly serious injury to Count von Sparkle that has caused this more cautious approach. This, combined with rumors that the team has been disappointed with the performance of their previous recruit, the often savage Earl of Pearl, seems to explain the Archduke's comments.

However, as one analyst pointed out, "Really, a 'defesive Vampire' just means that instead of swooping down on you, he waits for you to approach him before he rips your arms off!" Only time will tell if this new tactic will bring more wins for the Vampires.
